How to dress for summer staycation

Summer is almost here, and it’s time to plan your upcoming staycation. Here are some of our tips on how to layer up, whether you are going for a hike in the mountains, a shorter walk in the forest or randonee.

What to wear for mountain hikes

In Nordic countries you can (and probably will) experience all four seasons while on a mountain hike. We recommend you to layer up in the beginning, and when you get warm or sweaty, layer off and put it in your backpack.

Make sure to bring a backpack with extra set of dry layers like Lithe Tech-Wool, gloves, headband, water, snacks and band aid.

Recommended outfit for hiking:

1. Base layer: Keep dry and cool
with Impel Long Sleeve or Lithe Tech-Wool Long Sleeve.

2. Midlayer: Stay temperated
with the insulated and warming Buoyant Vest.

3. Top layer: Keep warm and dry
with the lightweigh and insulated Element Primaloft Jacket.

4. Pants: Flexible and warm
with Flash Warm Tights that has a soft brushed inside.

What to wear for forest walks

For the shorter active walks, we recommend a lighter set up like Discipline Jacket & Tights. Summer days in the Nordics can be chilly in the forest, so wear our light Aerial wool-mix tee underneath.

Layer up with the Bouyant Vest on colder and more windy days to keep warm. The light and functional Discipline Headband adds an extra warming protection.
